There is no metal hardware - just professional and strong cabinetmaker-grade joinery techniques, formaldehyde-free adhesives, and a zero-VOC finish that's silky to the touch and 100% food-safe to boot.
Available in maple, cherry, walnut, white oak and ebonized white oak.
The top surface of your wrap will be 14 inches deep x the width of your couch arm plus 1 inch. The side drops are 4.5" and 7.5" tall. The thickness of the wood is approx 1/2" thick.
The depth and drop dimensions are customizable.
We want you to know exactly what goes into making each piece, so you can understand the value of your sofa arm wrap, and feel good about buying and using it. We believe wholeheartedly in transparency, and are happy to answer questions you may have about our wraps.
:: How we make it ::
Once we have your couch arm measurement, we make each arm wrap on demand, custom built for your exact couch. We start with locally sourced, indigenous species hardwood trees, kiln-dried and milled into rough boards. This raw lumber is resawn and cut to max 3" widths x approximately 1/2: thick, which minimizes wood movement. We glue up these boards into a larger panel, using water resistant and formaldehyde-free wood glue. We then find the most pleasing arrangement of the boards, while also making sure to alternate grain direction again to minimize wood movement and maximize strength. The panels are then glued up into the final shape using what is called an edge lamination, which is super strong. Image 1 shows our original prototype with a miter joint, which we no longer use.
:: The best finish in the world ::
Your custom arm wrap is finished with three hand buffed coats of Osmo Polyx-Oil. This finish is called a hard wax oil, and is certified zero-VOC. It is made from tree resins, waxes and oils. It penetrates into the fibres of the wood, strengthening them from within. It doesn't sit on the surface like a varnish or lacquer finish, and won't cloud or chip. It has been certified for use on children's toys in Europe, the highest standard of safety. It's a breeze to clean and maintain - simply wipe spills with a damp cloth, or use a mild soap rag for more stuck-on dirt.
:: No metal hardware ::
Our arm wraps are not screwed, nailed or made with any kind of metal fasteners or brackets. They are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside, and will not mar your couch whatsoever. This also makes them 100% biodegradable.
:: Wood options ::
We make these in either solid cherry (pinky-rosy), solid maple (pale yellow), solid walnut (milk chocolate-y brown), solid white oak (pale honey) or ebonized solid white oak (a dark brown almost black). See the images for samples.

The depth of the arm wrap is set at 14 inches (we can make it more shallow for no extra charge, but extra depth will have a surcharge). The inner drop is set at 4.5 inches and the outer drop is set at 7.5 inches. If any of these don't work for your couch, no problem - simply message us!
Simply measure your couch arm width, i.e. thickness of your sofa / couch arm. The last image illustrates how best to take this measurement - we recommend using another person, two books and a flat ruler to get the most accurate measurement. Don't apply pressure to the couch, in order not to condense any of the upholstery.
